All individuals, students, and honorary members in good standing of ARMA International and the ARMA Toronto Chapter are invited to nominate candidates or themselves for a position on the 2026-2027 ARMA Toronto Chapter Board of Directors. Nominations must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Qualifications
To serve on the ARMA Toronto Board of Directors, you must be:
Time Commitment
- 2 hour planning meeting for the term (typically held in July or August);
- 1.5 hour monthly board meetings (typically the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.);
- 6 hour Annual General Meeting (or 1.5 hours if virtual);
- estimated 1-5 hours for monthly board duties, depending on your role and interest; and,
- optional attendance at in-personal and virtual events.
Role Overviews
President (1-year Term)
- Provides leadership to the board regarding the focus and strategy of the Chapter;
- Liaises with ARMA International on Chapter issues and questions;
- Provides newsletter content (President’s Message);
- Acts as a spokesperson and advocate for the Board;
- Reviews and approves financial transactions through the Billhighway banking system; and,
- Ensures board members are fulfilling their duties.
- This may be the role for you if:
- you are an experienced Chapter Leader,
- you have experience, or are looking to gain experience, in setting the strategic direction for an organization; and,
- your schedule can reliably accommodate attendance at monthly Board meetings.
Vice President (1-year Term)
- Chairs all board meetings;
- Acts as back up to the President;
- Manages the elections process including filling vacancies and recruitments; and,
- Manages chapter constitution and by-laws.
- This may be the role for you if:
- you are an experienced Chapter Leader;
- you are interested in serving in the role of President the following term; and,
- your schedule can reliably accommodate attendance at monthly Board meetings.
Treasurer (2-year Term)
- Administers ARMA Toronto's finances through the Billhighway banking system;
- Presents complete and up-to-date financial reports to the ARMA Toronto Chapter Board at each monthly meeting; and,
- Processes invoices and expense reports.
- This may be the role for you if:
- you are detail-oriented; and,
- have experience, or are looking to gain experience, in accounting.
Secretary (2-year term)
- Takes, prepares, and obtains approval of meeting minutes and agendas;
- Circulates Board meeting materials;
- Maintains a contact list of Directors;
- Maintains all current and archival ARMA Toronto records; and,
- Coordinates and manages all aspects of the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
- This may be the role for you if:
- you are detail-oriented;
- you would enjoy additional experience managing records; and,
- your schedule can reliably accommodate preparation for and attendance at monthly Board meetings.
Membership Director (1-year term)
- Creates and distributes a welcome package to new members;
- Manages the Chapter Roster;
- Addresses questions from the membership; and,
- Liaises with educational institutions to bring awareness of ARMA Toronto to students.
- This may be the role for you if:
- you have excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills; and,
- you have experience, or are looking to gain experience, in member relationship management.
Communications Director (1-year term)
- Manages the ARMA Toronto website, including creating content as needed and ensuring content is up to date;
- Creates and schedules email communications pertaining to chapter events and other messages;
- Promotes chapter events through other channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, ARMA International Events);
- Responds to inquiries through the general ARMA Toronto mailbox;
- This may be the role for you if:
- you are creative;
- you have experience in, or are looking to gain experience in, maintaining a website; and,
- you enjoy drafting communications, and promoting events and initiatives.
Newsletter Director (1-year term)
- Produces quarterly chapter newsletters, including soliciting content from other board members, drafting content, formatting and distributing through Envoke.
- This may be the role for you if:
- you are creative;
- you have experience, or are looking to gain experiencing, in editing and publishing; and
- you enjoy drafting communications, and promoting events and initiatives.
Programs Director (1-year term)
- Plans and organizes educational and social programs for chapter members, including determining topics, sourcing speakers, drafting program overviews, and collecting feedback; and,
- Works with Communications Director on program communications and promotion.
- This may be the role for you if:
- you have excellent planning and communication skills; and,
- you have experience, or are looking to gain experience, in adult learning and event planning.
Vendor Relations Director (1-year term)
- Sources and secures sponsorship from Business Partners;
- Manages advertising for Newsletter and Website; and
- Manages marketing materials, vendor list, and vendor price list.
- This may be the role for you if:
- you have excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills; and,
- you have experience, or are looking to gain experience, in sponsor relationship management.
Member-at-Large (1-year term)
- Provides support to the board as a whole; and,
- Works on special projects as identified.
- This may be the role for you if:
- you have less time to commit to role-specific duties; and,
- you would enjoy sharing ideas, providing feedback, and supporting Board initiatives.
