Angel Ramos, CRM, IGP:

Sr. Manager, Global Records for Global TMF Management & Records with almost 20 years records and archives experience with BeOne Medicines Ltd., Daiichi Sankyo, Inc., Princeton University, Sanofi and Viatris. He sits on the Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) Marketing Committee, ARMA International’s Chapter Advisory Committee (CAC) and ARMA New Jersey Chapter board. He previously presented at Montrium TMF Week, ARMA InfoCon, ARMA Pennsylvania, InfoNext (formerly the MER Conference), and Health Science Records and Archives Association (HSRAA). 

Angel has experience in member retention and recruitment, chapter bylaws, Starchapter web administration, graphic design, copywriting and policy and procedure writing. 

Barbara Dalton, CIGO, IGP: 

Barbara Dalton is the Director of Data Privacy and Information Governance for Norton Rose Fulbright.  Her career has spanned over 30 years in information management, and has included the Pharmaceutical, Government, Financial and Legal industries.  Her passion is building IG programs and mentoring staff.  Outside of her work, she enjoys gardening and has been involved in Labrador Retriever Recue for many years.

Edward (Ed) Sturgeon, CRM, CIP:

Ed has been employed by Metro Water Recovery in Denver, Colorado since 1995 and has currently been serving as the Records Management Administrator since 2011.  He has been a Certified Information Professional (CIP) since 2019 and a Certified Records Manager (CRM) since 2005.

His professional affiliations include: ARMA where he currently volunteers on the Chapter Advisory Committee and the Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM).  He is also member of the Mile-High Denver Chapter of ARMA where he has volunteered for the President-Elect, President, and Chair positions, as well as the Vice President and Treasurer positions. 

Before moving to Denver in 1995, Ed grew up in Williston, North Dakota and attended the University of North Dakota (UND) in Grand Forks under the teachings of Dr. Mark Langemo where he received his BBA degree with an emphasis in Information Management and Management.

Janet LaBar:

Janet has served on the Board of Directors for the Saskatchewan Chapter and during her tenure has served as a Director-at-Large, Secretary, and President. Janet works for the Legislative Assembly Service of Saskatchewan as the Records Management Coordinator. Janet’s RIM experience includes program implementation, education, records schedule development, project management, and change management. Prior to the RIM industry, Janet worked in customer service and regulatory compliance in the communications industry where she was recognized with awards for customer service and innovation.

Jeffrey Lewis: 

Jeff Lewis was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois and attended California Western School of Law in San Diego. He is an attorney although he does not practice law.  He has over 20 years in the records and information management field, the majority of that time working in the law firm environment. Jeff is currently is the Records Manager for Farmers Insurance. He has been active with the professional records management group ARMA for most of his career and is Past President of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter.

John Spencer: 

John, a nationally recognized speaker on soft skills, brings a unique and valuable perspective to this topic, particularly emotional intelligence. His insights, honed over years of experience, have established him as a trusted speaker at ARMA's chapter meetings and national and regional conferences. He has also been a guest speaker at colleges and universities.

With a career spanning over 30 years in corporate America, John has amassed a wealth of experience, working for renowned companies such as Ernst and Young (EY), The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, and DuPont. Currently, he's applying his expertise at Kemper Insurance, based in Chicago, as the Enterprise Records Manager.

His extensive experience in team leadership, people management, and leading projects while collaborating in matrixed environments has given him a deep understanding of soft skills, particularly emotional intelligence, and their crucial role in the workplace. John has also played a significant role as a mentor and coach, guiding individuals in developing their soft skills and emotional intelligence.

ARMA has widely acknowledged John's expertise in soft skills through his presentations. He presented at the 2018 ARMA Conference, where he received high ratings. He served as the keynote speaker for the 2019 ARMA InfoCon Leadership Summit and was one of the key speakers during the 2020 ARMA InfoCon Leadership Summit.

John's leadership roles within ARMA since 2008 are a testament to his unwavering commitment to the RIM industry. In the Dallas ARMA Chapter, he served multiple terms as the Chapter President and held various roles on the Chapter Board. His contributions extended to the ARMA Southwest Region Board, where he served as the Chapter Advisor for Marketing and Membership and as a Senior Chapter Advisor. Currently, he continues to serve the industry as a member of the ARMA Chapter Advisory Committee.

Judi Long:

Judi is the University Records Manager at Nova Southeastern University, with 11 years in her current role and over 30 years of experience in records management, compliance, data management, government affairs, and nonprofit administration. Her expertise extends beyond her role at NSU, as she serves as the treasurer for the Palm Beach-Treasure Coast Chapter of ARMA, is a board member for the ARMA Southeast Sunshine Conference and participates on the Chapter Advisory Committee. Judi is a CRM Candidate, holds an MBA and a paralegal certificate, underscoring her strong educational foundation and diverse professional skill set.

 

Kamal Kapoor:

My name is Kamal Kapoor and I have been an ARMA member for over ten years. I have both personal and professional experience in resolving issues and challenges facing the association and the RIM and the information governance community. I have served my local chapter (ARMA Greater Columbus, Ohio) as a past chapter president and have served on the Regional Leadership Committee. I currently have the privilege of serving on the Chapter Advisory Committee. I speak three different languages and hold a Master’s degree in International Business. I work in state government as a Program Administrator, where my tenure just passed the 24-year mark.  My skill set includes management, sales, budgeting and forecasting, compliance, and team building.

Lucy Ungaro, MLS, FCRM, CBA, RMLO:

Lucy graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix. She also obtained a Certification in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame in 2017. Most recently, she completed her Master’s degree in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Legal Studies from Saint Leo University. This wealth of knowledge gives her a diverse range of specialties from Project Management to Administration to Policy Development. In addition to her graduate

studies, she also has an extensive list of certifications such as Florida Certified Records Manager through the Florida Records Management Administration, Certified Public Records Manager through the Florida Department of State, Certified in Emergency Planning through FEMA, and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified.

Her professional career in Records Management and Information Governance spans over a couple of decades. The large majority has been working for two public agencies. One is the 6th largest school district in the U.S. Currently, she works for the 10th largest school district in the country. In both, she holds the designation of Records Manager Liaison Officer. She currently serves in several volunteer positions with different industry organizations including the Association for Records Managers and Administrators ARMA Chapter Advisory Committee Board, President of ARMA Southeast Florida Chapter, and Board member of ARMA Sunshine Conference Committee.

Mark Graves: 

Mark Graves is a Records and Information Management professional with over 25 years of experience. Mark started his career in technology, developing and supporting Enterprise Content Management systems. He has broadened his career to the overall RIM and IG practice and has developed programs at multiple organizations. He is currently working as an IG/RIM Manager at Access Sciences where he works with clients to develop and improve their programs.

Mark joined ARMA in 2005 and quickly stepped into a volunteer leadership position at the Nebraska chapter, serving in multiple roles from 2006 to 2013. He then served as a volunteer leader in the ARMA Midwest Rocky Mountain region from 2013 to 2017. He returned to Nebraska Chapter leadership in 2019 and is currently serving as the Past President. In 2023, Mark joined ARMA’s Chapter Advisory Committee where he supports chapter leaders and helps guide best practices for ARMA chapters.

In 2024, Mark relocated from Omaha, Nebraska to Houston, Texas. He is happy to call both places home.

Marshall Commons: Committee Chair

Since 1998, Marshall has been providing Corodata clients with the most economically beneficial options for secure records storage, document destruction, and off-site data storage and protection. He is responsible for evaluating the client’s situation to propose the best solutions for information management. Marshall has earned the distinction of being a certified Information Governance Professional. He is qualified to provide professional training and development of Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles and Retention Guidelines.

Marshall volunteers at all levels with ARMA International. He headed up the merger of the three California Bay Area chapters and was elected its first president. He has most recently been selected by ARMA’s Board of Directors to serve as the Chair of the Chapter Advisory Committee. Prior to the formation of the Golden State chapter, he served with the Golden Gate chapter as Membership Director 2012-2016, Vice President 2014-2016, and three terms as President. 

He was awarded the “Outside the Box” award for innovative ideas achieving most growth for the Golden Gate Chapter amongst all “large” chapters in ARMA International for three consecutive years. He was named the Chapter’s 2013 Leader of the Year. He was Rookie of the Year in 2010 for the Silicon Valley Chapter of ARMA and served as Programs Director from 2009-2011. He has been a speaker for numerous chapters, as well as presenting at regional leadership conferences and several times at the annual international conference.

He welcomes new members and has served as a mentor. With a passion to help folks find their voice and feel part of the life of the organization, this is one of his favorite things to do. In addition to his work with ARMA, he is a supporting member of the City Clerk’s Association of California, California Law Enforcement Association of Records Supervisors & California Special Districts Association.

Marshall holds a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology (1981) from (San Jose Christian College) William Jessup University. Studied at the University of Graz, Austria and his Master’s work is in Cross-cultural studies.

His family is his greatest joy. Married for 42 years, father of five and Papa to 10 wonderful grandchildren.

Michael Landau: 

Michael Landau has served on the ARMA International board as treasurer and has served the NY and NJ chapters in roles including treasurer, VP Professional Development, technology and membership committees.  Michael is currently on the Executive Committee of the Global Information Consortium.  He serves as the NetApp AI, Governance & Cyber Resilience Evangelist & Product Manager.   

Michael brings decades of experience in the design and application of complex technology solutions.  He has focused on solving complex cyber-security, compliance, legal/discovery and business problems for global and regional organizations and agencies.

Rishi Maharaj, IGP:

Rishi Maharaj is a strategic leader with over 20 years’ experience in Operations Management, with a focus on process management experience in the public and private sectors as it pertains to Records and Information Management (RIM). This includes practical experience with all aspects of developing, implementing and managing RIM and IG related policies and procedures.  Rishi is a results-focused and effectual leader with proven ability to successfully analyze an organization’s critical business requirements, identify deficiencies, and develop innovative solutions to ensure compliance, improving efficiency and improving end user experience.  He currently serves on the ARMA Metro NYC Board of Directors and recently obtained his Information Governance Professional (IGP) Certification.

Ryan Zilm, CEDS, CRM, CIP, IGP, FAI:

Ryan has been an active contributor to the Information Management and Technology profession for more than 28 years and is the Director of Information Governance at SJW Group. Before that, he was employed with Baker Hughes as a Senior Director, overseeing the Records & Information Management Program based in Houston, Texas. He received his MBA from the U. of Texas at San Antonio, has a BA in Administrative Leadership from the U. of Oklahoma, has multiple industry-related certifications, and has participated in developing many foundational resources supporting associated information-related communities. Ryan has also served as Past President of the ARMA International Board of Directors and was inducted into the ARMA Company of Fellows in October 2022.

SAMUEL E. HAIDUC III, CRA, MBA:

Sam is the Supervisor of the Records Services and Secure Disposal Departments for the FirstEnergy Corporation from 2007 until present. Prior to FirstEnergy, Sam has held managerial positions in the manufacturing and construction fields. 

 

Sam holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration from the University of Akron and The Ohio State University as well as a master’s degree in business administration from the Louisiana State University – Shreveport.

 

He is a frequent speaker at records and information management, data management, and imaging conferences, seminars, and meetings. Over the past 15 years, Sam has served in all Board positions within the Northeast Ohio Chapter, has twice served as an ARMA volunteer mentor and as the Chapter Director of Operations and Governance with the ARMA Great Lakes Region Board. Sam currently serves on ARMA International’s Chapter Advisory Committee in. Sam has received the Chapter Leader of the Year three times from his local Chapter and once as its Member of the Year.

 

Recent Speaking Engagements include the 2021 and 2022 ARMA Great Lakes/Midwest Rocky Mountain Region Leadership Conference, yearly program engagements with the ARMA Northeast Ohio Chapter and as a co-presenter for the CAC at the 2023 ARMA International Conference.

Shelly Smith, CRA:

Shelly Smith has over 20 years of records management experience, in which she has developed and overseen the planning, implementation operations of several diverse information management systems and programs.

As the Records and Information Management and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act Coordinator for City of Winnipeg’s Public Works Department, Shelly is responsible for ensuring compliance with privacy legislation as well as overseeing records management and privacy programs for a very large and diverse department.

Shelly has been an ARMA Winnipeg Chapter Board member since 2011. She has served on the Board of Directors as the Program Administrator and Program Director for the ARMA Canada Region from 2017 – 2022. Shelly continues to be devoted as a leader for the profession as she is currently a member of ARMA’s Chapter Advisory Committee, the co-chair for ARMA’s Canada Conference Education subcommittee, and sits on ARMA International's Awards Committee.

Shelly has spoken at various events and is passionate about connecting and sharing knowledge and experiences with fellow professionals and ARMA members.

Born and raised in Selkirk Manitoba Canada, Shelly moved to Winnipeg to attend University many years ago where she continues to live with her daughter. Shelly is indigenous and proudly identifies as a member of the Métis Nation.

Tyrene Bada, MLS, CRM:

Tyrene Bada, MLS, CRM (she/her) is a dedicated Systems Analyst at the City of Beaverton, bringing her expertise in information governance and records management to her role. She began her unexpected journey in the field as the Records Coordinator for Portland Community College, where she launched the college’s first records management program and records center.

Through her involvement with the Oregon Chapter of ARMA, Tyrene gained valuable insights and connections, ultimately serving as Chapter President. Her commitment to the profession has led her to volunteer extensively on various committees and task forces at the chapter and regional levels. From July 2020 through June 2023, she served on the ARMA International Board of Directors and now chairs the ARMA International Conference Education Committee, overseeing session selection for ARMA’s three international conferences.

 She holds a Master’s in Library Science with a Certificate in Archival Studies from Emporia State University and contributes to the ICRM as a CRM exam part writer. Outside work, Tyrene is passionate about music and theatre, performing regularly and serving as a professional cantor and chorister at St. Mary’s Cathedral.  In her spare time, Tyrene enjoys sleeping and listening to the full discography of Taylor Swift, her go-to soundtrack for both work and relaxation.
